Due to the high contrast of the text on background it was hard for me to read the large blocks of text in this post. I'm sure the problem would be fixed if you gave the text a bit more of a line height. I'm on 1280x1024 and there is a bit of green on the sides, but so it goes with narrow fixed width designs ;).
